About Us
The year is 1993. Crystal Brown worked at August Max in Lakeforest Mall, and a lovely woman named Gloria Lovelace frequently shopped there. They became friendly as both of them happened to be pregnant at the same time. Crystal had Kandace in August and Gloria had Brandon in September. Fast forward to September 2008 where Crystal and Gloria ran into each other at Gaithersburg High School during Back to School Night in their kids sophomore English class! At that time, Kandace and Brandon didn't know each other well, but Brandon apparently had a bet to get Kandace's number before another guy in class did. Obviously we know who won.
Kandace and Brandon became good friends and Kandace couldn't deny the feelings she felt for Brandon. Even at the young age of 16, she knew there was something special between them and Brandon knew it too because he told Kandace that he was going to marry her one day. On December 28, 2009, Brandon brought it full circle and asked Kandace to be his girlfriend at Lakeforest Mall. They were homecoming king and queen of their class, faced the distance when they went away to college, made it through some of life's lowest of lows together, celebrated each other through life's highest of highs, and quite literally grew up together. Their love has already withstood so much and even when life was unpredictable, their love for each other never wavered.
On December 31, 2023 right before the new year, Brandon asked Kandace to marry him with a few family and friends in person and on FaceTime to witness. It was a beautiful moment filled with many smiles, tears and "finallys!"
Kandace and Brandon can't wait to celebrate with their closest family and friends on the beautiful island of Jamaica!

It all started with a compliment at the Boys & Girls Club in 2005 where I was the new kid on the block. I can’t say I remember exactly when that year we began hanging so tight, but I do know the summer of 2006 was the best summer ever and that was when I knew I had a best friend for life. Dan has been with me from the very beginning of me and Brandon’s relationship and has been our biggest supporter. She has become not only a sister to me, but also to Brandon. From BGC to college days hanging between HU and UMD, me visiting her in HTX to her moving back to Moco to be roomies, to our matching twin flame tattoos, I can’t begin to imagine our wedding day without her right by my side.

The moment I met Brittany when I began working at GHS, I knew we would become friends and the first time we hung outside of work, I knew we would become besties. We instantly clicked and she quickly became such an important person to me. She prays for me, supports me, mentors me, encourages me, and gives the best advice. She has made it extremely clear to Brandon that we are a package deal and to everyone else that she doesn't play about me! I cherish our Friday night hangouts, our chatter-filled rides to brunch or Sobe, our Sunday morning church dates, morning parties at work, and everything in between. I am so grateful that she will be by my side!

Boys & Girls Club gave me the best friends! I met Olivia in 2005 and we also instantly clicked. She drew me in with her larger than life personality and the way she can make me laugh in any situation. She is the true definition of the life of the party and a ride or die! Some of my favorite memories are from our summers working together at BGC and spilling the tea to Mr. Phil (RIP!), rapping Young Dolph at the top of our lungs at brunch, and rapping on the phone for literally hours at a time, all the time. I always know when Liv calls my phone, she’s calling with something good LOL. Liv always knows what to do to make any situation better. I’m so happy she’s along for the ride with me!

I met Kelli very recently as she is Brandon’s best cousin Cole’s wife. Of course, Brandon and Cole hoped we would become close and we absolutely have. Kelli is one of the sweetest people I know, and won’t hesitate to show up for the people she loves. My favorite memories with Kelli are New Year’s Eve when Brandon proposed and she was about to literally drag me out of the house if I didn’t move because I was about to ruin my own surprise (those who know, know LOL) and the night before the Renaissance World Tour! She keeps me laughing constantly. Our boos did their big one marrying us into the family! Shoutout to the K. Lovelace girls!!!

Sydney is my oldest friend and like a sister to me. Our parents lived in the same apartment building before we were born so clearly our friendship was destined to be! Even after we all moved from that building to now, Sydney and I have remained friends. Countless sleepovers, birthday parties, graduation parties, New Year's Day brunches, to catch up dates where four hours of catching up isn’t enough, Sydney and I have been through all stages of walks together! Sydney is a constant inspiration, such a generous person and such a kind soul. I couldn’t even begin to imagine my wedding day without her by my side.

Who knew a new Howard student mixer for Montgomery County students that our parents forced us into going to would create this lifelong friendship?! Imani and I met at that mixer, discovered we were in the same dorm and same floor and we have been hanging out ever since. We went from memories on campus, to girls trips to now planning our weddings! We used to sit in our dorms talking about our weddings complete with Pinterest boards and as life would have it, we got engaged within six months of each other. It’s been so fun being #bridebesties. Imani is such a nurturer and I am so incredibly grateful for her being by my side on this day and I am honored to stand by her on her day!

Where do I even begin with this one?! Us moving to Turtle Dove was the best thing that could have happened because I met my best bud! You can always count on Nique to bring the prayers, honesty, laughs and noise any and everywhere. From us outside playing Mr. Fox, to riding our bikes filming fake shows, to countless birthday parties to devising plans and wandering the halls of G’Burg as students to later working together at G’Burg – literally ALL of the things! Nique and I have been through everything together. I don’t know how I am going to keep dry eyes when she sings me down the aisle, but I do know it will be one of the most special moments of my life and I am so honored to have her!!
